How to mount the Flo-Commander outside of the box: Click here
Customers service:
Main guy: Steve Kesselring.
He knows the product, he's the man who designed it.
You got to know carburetors to think about and develop such a product. Any questions you have,
any doubts about the product, Steve has a precise, clear and easy to understand answer for you.
Always available, he's a t-phone call away and he does also respond pretty fast to numerous e-mails
(I do not encourage you to do this though, lol). Shipping was fast and without problems.
Products:
The Flo-Commander is basically an adjustable main air jet; but an amazing build quality as well
as special features are what makes this device the best tool to tune carburetors.
A handful of hp will be gained if you install this device OEM or re-worked (stock or modified)
but properly working carburetors, although it will even help to a certain extent with carbs
that are not tuned quite right.
The Flo-Commander will smooth out the transitions between each carburetors circuits still
present on well-tuned carburetors. What it does exactly is it allows you to lean or richen the
air/fuel mixture from one location by altering the size of the main air jets by mean of a knob.
Actually, the Flo-Commander is a "jet kit", try it before forking out big money on one.
Pretty nice if you ask me.
Bonus feature:
The needle screw (adjuster): turning the adjuster one way or the other (richening or leaning)
will give you the same result as moving the jet needles up or down, changing the main jets,
changing the float level (to a certain degree), or changing the main jets (to a certain degree also).
Very neat stuff.
Construction:
Anodized main body, quality brass fittings, quality hoses, 2 kits available (specific or universal,
the universal kit having an assortment of brackets to fit the FC wherever you want). You also
have the choice of going with the screw type fittings (to replace the stock main air jets, drilling
and tapping required-for heavily modified carburetors) or the std fittings. A common chamber
for all 4 carburetors main air jets ensure an equal amount of air being delivered to each of the 4
carburetors. Call Steve for more info.
Bonus parts:
4 special pilot air jets are provided in the kit; I was pleasantly surprised, since I saw no mention
about those in the web site.
Happiness factor (testing): UPDATE!
OH-MY-GOD...
I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical about this product, but here's how it happened:
I finally got my bike on Thursday night...just had time to race to the dealer to have new tires
mounted than go home...the bike was not running well, rough idle, surging at constant throttle,
the nightmare...(just like I finished the season last year.)
I used the bike to go to work the next day; fair temperature, 70-75f... bike was still running bad
with new gas in the tank...got home, got the toolbox out, started some mods...first thing in was the
Flo-Commander; I already figured out that I may be a bit rich down low, so all I did was turning the
knob 1/4 turn leaner to start with.
As soon as I fired the bike, I knew I was in for a pleasant surprise!
The bike idle was smooth (I previously thought that I had a leaking exhaust gasket);
Time for a road test!
Well, well, well...
Constant throttle was smooth, no more surging (well, maybe a bit, but I now know that it's only a matter of
turning the knob, no more carburetors disassembling!) and all the bike wants to do now is rev!
If you like smooth front wheel rises, this is the device you've been looking for...incredible.
Go get one now, you wont regret it...promised.
Oh, installation took all of 45 minutes...and this was a fast 45 minutes;
it is so much fun to install such nice devices, time goes by quick!
UPDATE UPDATE !
I tried adjusting the knob to see the differences between one adjustment and another...
Believe me, it is working! Just a half turn on the knob to lean out the mixture changed the spark
plugs color from "coffee with cream" to "tea with milk"... in another words,
half a turn leaned the mixture quit a lot!

NEW UPDATE: (02/12/07)
You can add a second Flo-Commander to tune your slow-speed (pilot air jets) jets which eliminate low speed
(1/8 th) throttle openings and sudden openings of the throttle problems on carbureted or aftermarket ramair bikes.
Here's more info about this:

There's also a new filter/diffuser available:

LATEST UPDATE: (03/03/29)
I just installed a 2nd Flo-Commander to the pilot air jets circuit;
My findings are the following:
First of all, let me put you in the situation I am once again; I'm running a QBcarbon
aftermarket ramair system on my 1999 R1;that box came with no instructions whatsoever
and I had all kind of everyday rideability problems with it.
Messing with different needles and carburetors innards components got me close, but most of
the time the problem got or displaced, or not entirely gone......
I tried jetting leaner and used a Dial-A-Jet kit, but again ,where I had problems previously,
it got better but displaced the problem elsewhere.....
Enter my first Flo-Commander!
The problem from midrange to top end (a bit of surging, poor throttle response) has then be take care of
and it even improved the lower rpm range somewhat...I was a happy camper!
I told to myself that I could live with the little surging and roughness down low in the rev range
(I could also feel a loss of power down there).
Enter the 2nd Flo-Commander!
While browsing the net, I stumbled into this guy ZX11 which has 2 kits;
1 for the main air jets and 1 for the pilot air jets!
After a conversation with Steve, I came to the conclusion that a 2nd kit would probably make some
big changes where I still have problems.......and he was right on the money!
In a stock airbox, the installation would be a breeze......on my bike, with a specially designed
air filter, DAJ,2 FC`s and the nitrous injectors ramp, it was a bitch to install the box back though!
Awfully crowded in there...

Anyways, after a city ride to test the surging part, I came to the conclusion that once again,
the FC made a miracle...the surging is gone.....forever! Plus, I can now whack the throttle in
1st gear at low revs without the bike bogging...amazing tire spinning action from idle.
On top of that, the idle miraculously smoothed out! No more ups and downs.
Thanks a million times Steve.
UPDATE: 03/05/24
Damn weather...remember, I was happy with the initial settings?
Well, the temperature got hotter up here in Canada...and since I'm running a ramair system,
the carburetion tends to need some fine-tuning as it gets hotter......
the bike was running rich at low revs and rich at high revs; exactly, on idle at at low throttle,
I could hear a staccato-like, wet rhythmic soggy spot at constant throttle, low speed;
and on highways, when really gunning it, the bike did some kind of back-and-forth motion
as it tried to clear up at full throttle and high speeds;
1/4 turn on both Flo-Commanders to lean out things and guess what.....clean idle,
smooth low revs running and maniacal acceleration at high speeds.
Geez, do I like this product!
UPDATE: 05/04/22
Well, I`m never happy with anything...so, I added 2 Flo-Commander remotes to my already extensive setup!
Those can remotely adjust the FC`s from any place you choose on the bike.
Another amazing product from Performance Design!
